As we come to the close of this year, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on what it’s meant for Tongo and for the commission-based professionals we’re here to serve.
This year was an important one for us. We’ve grown substantially, led by partnerships with brokerages and platform leaders who believe, as we do, that delivering financial stability to agents is primary to business growth and stability. Together, we’ve proven that it’s possible even when commission income isn’t predictable.
There’s a temptation in building, when you are working to solve a really big problem in a really big market, to automate too soon. The consequence is making technology a wedge between you and substantive relationships with customers. The casualty is learning, then relevance and growth.
Fortunately, I’ve done this before (read: made these mistakes before). So at Tongo we spend a lot of time listening. We spend a lot of time talking with our partners to learn what they care about and how to strike alignment. We talk with agents every day and dig into how they’re earning and spending, how they’re funding their business, why tax season is stressful, how they’re budgeting (or not), how their brokerages support them (or not), and so much more.
As we turn the page into 2026 the momentum feels different because we’re now at the stage where proximity to our partners and agents - the listening, asking and co-designing - has shaped a roadmap that lives up to the substance of our mission.
We’re smarter than we’ve ever been. We’re coming in hot to 2026. So let’s give credit where credit is due.
To every agent who trusted us this year and each partner who collaborated with us (or soon will): Thank you. To my team hell-bent on delivering the essential financial platform for agencies and 1099 professionals: Thank you. To our investors, advisors and cheerleaders: Thank you.
Let’s light it up in 2026.
